Please be advised that from 1st January 2026, the SoHPS re-registration fee will increase to £50.00 annually. This is the first fee increase for several years and is prompted primarily by the following important development:
In 2026, SoHPS will apply for accreditation of our Public Register of Health Play Specialists with the Professional Standards Authority (PSA), which will incur significant costs. This is the first step towards mandatory registration for all Health Play Specialists, which was identified as a priority by 73% of registrants surveyed in 2024.
We recognise that any increase in the registration fee adds to the financial burden on registrants at what is already a challenging time and hope that by giving advance notice of the revised fee, this will allow time to plan ahead for re-registration in 2026.
