- Welcome – The Society of Health Play Specialists
- “Ask, Don’t Guess” A presentation by one of our Youth Workers in the hospital about her work with the hospital Youth Group to raise awareness of the importance of not making assumptions when working with young people and to encourage best practice for those who do so.
- “From Lapland to the Emergency Department” – The journey of working as one of Santa’s elves to working in a busy emergency department and going back to basics.
- “Finding the fun in difficult circumstances” – the difficulties encountered by an HPS whilst dealing with bereavements in a ward but still trying to provide the fun for other patients and their families.
- “A parents perspective on their child’s lifetime of treatments and appointments” A parent is going to tell her story of having a child in hospital from 17 months old (now 14). The various wards she has been in, the various play staff she has met and the struggles of being a parent of a child/young person with lifetime appointments.
- “The successes and struggles of providing play in a general hospital” – The title speaks for itself. A presentation will be given by an HPS working in busy children’s areas in a general hospital.

Costs: £40 for Registered Play Specialists, £45 for non-registered play staff and £35 for student play specialists.
